The Ransom Place Historic District is a nationally recognized historic neighborhood located on the near-Westside of Indianapolis, Indiana.  From the late 1800's to the early 1900's, Ransom Place was a thriving African-American neighborhood where many wealthy Black residents of Indianapolis kept their homes.  For the last 30 years, the area has been the focus of an intensive restoration project aimed at revitalizing the homes in the neighborhood and emphasizing its rich history.
